Training Plan: Understanding Charles Handy's Organisational Culture Theory

  • Present a concise overview of Handy's theory, including the four organisational cultures: Power Culture, Role Culture, Task Culture, and Person Culture.
  • Use visual aids and examples to illustrate each culture.

3. Group Activity: Culture Identification (7 minutes)

  • Divide participants into small groups.
  • Provide each group with a scenario or description of an organisation.
  • Ask them to identify which of Handy's cultures best describes the organisation in the scenario.
  • Have each group present their findings to the entire class.

  • Encourage participants to share their insights and opinions on which culture they think is most effective in various situations.

  • Summarise the key points discussed during the session.
