Effective coaching questions are essential for guiding coachees toward self-discovery, problem-solving, and personal growth. Here are some great coaching questions to ask your coachee:

  1. Goal-Setting Questions:

    • What specific goals or outcomes would you like to achieve through coaching?
    • What does success look like for you in this area of your life or work?
    • How do these goals align with your long-term aspirations?

  2. Self-Reflection Questions:

    • What are your strengths and talents that can help you in this situation?
    • What values or principles are important to you in this context?
    • How have you handled similar challenges in the past, and what did you learn from those experiences?

  3. Problem-Solving Questions:

    • What obstacles or challenges are you currently facing?
    • What strategies or approaches have you considered to overcome these challenges?
    • How can you break down your larger goals into smaller, actionable steps?

  4. Exploratory Questions:

    • What possibilities or alternatives have you not yet explored?
    • If you had all the resources you needed, what would your ideal solution look like?

    • Can you envision a future where you have successfully overcome your challenges?

    • How can you use this visualisation to motivate and guide your actions?
