1. The 3 I’s: Intent, Implementation, and Impact

• What is the intended learning outcome for the session?
• How well is the session structured to meet those intentions?
• Is there evidence of learner progress and understanding (impact)?

2. Teaching, Learning and Assessment

• Clarity of explanation and delivery
• Use of questioning and learner interaction
• Strategies to support all learners, including those with additional needs
• Assessment of learning (formative/summative)
• Evidence of learning taking place

3. Planning and Use of Resources

• Evidence of planning for individual and group needs
• Quality and appropriateness of resources and materials
• Integration of digital tools/technology where relevant

4. Maths and English

• Are opportunities used to develop learners’ maths and English skills?
• How effectively are these embedded in the session?

5. Safeguarding, Prevent, and Wellbeing

• Are safeguarding and Prevent duties being promoted?
• Are learners encouraged to stay safe and healthy (physically and mentally)?
• Is the learning environment safe, respectful and inclusive?

6. Learner Engagement and Behaviour

• Are learners engaged and participating actively?
• Is behaviour managed effectively and respectfully?
