What can I do in Slack?
- Log CPD: type /cpd in any channel or message to open a quick form.
- Save a message as CPD: hover over a useful message, select the three dots, then Save to CPD.
- Add a reflection: after saving, select Add a reflection in the WorkplaceHero message. A short form opens inside Slack, so there is no need to sign in.
- Add a point to your next 1:1: hover over a message, select the three dots, then Add to 1:1. Or type /cpd 121 followed by your point. Managers can choose which report's 1:1 it goes to. Needs Passport for Teams: Performance and an upcoming 1:1.
- Approve spend requests: organisation owners can approve or decline training spend with one tap in the chosen channel.
Who can use it?
The Slack integration is included with any paid Passport for Teams plan. The organisation owner connects it from Organisation settings.
Why does Slack say it cannot find my account?
The email on your Slack profile must match your WorkplaceHero email, or a work email linked to your account. Check your Slack profile email, or accept your organisation invite to link your work email.
/cpd or a button stopped working in my browser
If you use Slack in a web browser and have been away from the tab for a while, Slack can lose its connection. Refresh the page and try again. It will work straight away.
Do I need to set anything up first?
Open your CPD log on WorkplaceHero once, so your record is set up. After that you can log everything from Slack.
Does it count towards my target?
You choose. Entries default to Wider Personal Development. Pick Role & Regulatory Target if it counts towards your required hours.
Will I get reminders?
Yes. If you log something from Slack without a reflection, we send you one friendly nudge two days later.
