Assessor qualifications

Level 3 CAVA - Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

The full assessor qualification, delivered fully online with a dedicated tutor-assessor and flexible pacing.

What is the Level 3 CAVA?

The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement - known everywhere as the CAVA qualification - is the nationally recognised assessor certificate on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). It qualifies you to assess learners on almost any vocational or work-based qualification in the UK, including apprenticeships and NVQs.

CAVA replaces the older A1 and D32/D33 assessor awards. If you have been asked to become a qualified assessor - whether by an FE college, an apprenticeship provider, an NHS trust or your own employer - this is the qualification you need.

Which assessor route is right for you?

There are four assessor qualifications at Level 3. Most learners want the full CAVA; use the summary below to check.
