Integrations - Slack (Beta)
Slack

Learning and 1:1s, right where your team already talks.

Log CPD with /cpd, add points to your next 1:1, get reflection nudges and approve training spend, all without leaving Slack. Included with every paid Passport for Teams plan.

Four things your team can do from Slack

/cpd

Log any activity in seconds

Type /cpd to open a short form. Title, hours and a reflection go straight into your CPD log, counted as Wider Personal Development.

/cpd 121

Add it to your next 1:1

Type /cpd 121 or use the message shortcut to drop a topic, win, blocker or action onto the shared agenda for your next 1:1.

Reminder

Reflection nudges

Two days after logging, a friendly message asks what you took from it. Add your reflection right there in Slack.

Approve

One-click spend approvals

When a manager asks to spend credits, the owner gets the request in Slack and can approve or decline in one tap.

Set up in about two minutes

  1. 1The organisation owner opens the organisation workspace and selects Connect Slack.
  2. 2Approve WorkplaceHero in your Slack workspace and choose a channel for spend requests.
  3. 3Staff type /cpd in any channel or DM. That's it.

Private by design

  • CPD logged in Slack belongs to the person, not the employer.
  • Spend only happens when the owner approves.
  • 1:1 points follow the same access rules as the app.
  • Included with every paid Passport for Teams plan, no extra charge.

Questions

Which plans include the Slack integration?

Slack (Beta) is included at no extra cost with every paid Passport for Teams plan. Adding points to a 1:1 from Slack needs Passport for Teams: Performance, because 1:1s are a Performance feature.

How do I check if my organisation has Slack set up?

Sign in and open Account & Settings, then Sign-in & security. The Slack card tells you whether your organisation is connected and which Slack workspace it uses. You can also type /cpd in Slack: if it opens a form, you are set up.

Do I need to connect Slack myself as an employee?

No. Once your organisation owner connects Slack, everyone in that Slack workspace can use /cpd straight away. There is nothing to install or switch on in your own account.

What if my organisation is not connected?

Only the organisation owner can connect Slack, from the organisation workspace. Ask them to connect it. It is included with every paid Passport for Teams plan.

Who can connect Slack?

The organisation owner connects Slack from the organisation workspace. One Slack workspace links to one organisation.

How does Slack know who I am?

We match your Slack email to your WorkplaceHero account or a verified linked work email. If there is no match, Slack asks you to link your work email first.

Can my manager see everything I log from Slack?

No. CPD logged from Slack goes into your own CPD log and follows your normal sharing settings. Your record stays yours if you change jobs.

What happens to points I add to a 1:1?

They appear on the shared agenda for your next 1:1 in WorkplaceHero, where both you and your manager can see them. Open actions carry forward until they are done.

Slack says it cannot find my account?

Check the email shown on the Slack card in Account & Settings matches your Slack email. If you use a different work email in Slack, accept an employer invite sent to that address while signed in, so it is linked to your account.

Something looks out of date after I use Slack?

Refresh your browser tab in WorkplaceHero and the latest entries will appear.
