Frequently asked questions

How do I work out a percentage pay rise?
Multiply your current pay by the percentage, divide by 100 and add it on. A 5% rise on £30,000 is £1,500, so your new pay is £31,500.
How do I find the percentage of a rise I was offered?
Take the new pay minus the old pay, divide by the old pay and multiply by 100.
Is this before or after tax?
These figures are before tax and National Insurance.
