A detail you would resolve differently
A contractor's question reveals a gap between a drawing and its construction. Keep your learning without recording confidential project information.
“What will I check before the next issue?”
Passport for architects
The site conversation that changed a detail. The sustainability seminar that shaped a specification. Keep your learning, reflections and evidence in a free personal Passport that stays yours through every change of practice.
Free personal CPD log. No card. No trial. Your record, not your employer's.
Learning happens throughout a project
Courses matter. So do technical reading, peer conversations and lessons from completed projects. Record what you learned and how it will influence your practice.

“What will I check before the next issue?”
At a technical seminar
An update prompts you to review an assumption in your design approach. Capture the insight and evidence of the learning.
“How will this influence my design decisions?”
In a design review
A post-occupancy discussion changes how you think about materials or performance. Reflect on what you could carry into a future project.
“What could I do differently next time?”
Illustrative learning situations, not customer stories. Keep client names, addresses and confidential project details out of your entries.
Why keep your record here?
Use Quick Log and your personal QR shortcut to open your log on your phone. Return to the reflection when you have space to think.
Keep what you learned, how it applies and the difference it could make together. Your own words, at your own pace.
A new practice, sole practice, consultancy or a move between project teams: use the same personal account. Your employer does not automatically get access to your private reflections.
Attach certificates to CPD entries and export a PDF or CSV when you want a copy or something to share.
Small habits, meaningful learning
A technical seminar. A focused read. Reflection after a design review. Explore a monthly rhythm, then record relevant learning when you have completed it.
ARB sets no minimum CPD hours and requires recorded learning and reflection, including its mandatory topics: environmental sustainability and fire and life safety. Practising RIBA Chartered Members have separate obligations: at least 35 hours annually, including 20 across the ten Core Curriculum topics. The ARB option here is a suggested personal habit, not an ARB requirement.
Read the ARB CPD guidanceAn illustrative 20-hour personal habit. ARB does not set a minimum number of hours.
Your illustrative annual total
36 hours / year
That rhythm reaches a 20-hour year, with room to build on it.
A planning illustration, not a compliance check or saved CPD entry. Only relevant, completed learning with reflection belongs in your record.
Alongside your official record
Keep a dated history of learning, reflections and supporting evidence. Import existing entries from a CSV and export a PDF or CSV when you need a copy.
WorkplaceHero is not an ARB-approved recording platform. Keep your official record on MyARB or another platform ARB accepts. We do not submit or sync entries to ARB or RIBA.
For practice directors and learning leads
