How to choose and approve 360 reviewers

Set reviewer selection, approve employee nominations and understand progress and report privacy.

Organisation-assigned cycles

Who can manage this: authorised organisation owners and managers. Owners can manage all organisation cycles; managers can manage cycles they assigned or cycles for staff in their reporting line. Payment: assessments are pay as you go, not included in a subscription.

Choose the approach

  1. Open the organisation-assigned cycle and its reviewer section.
  2. Keep Manager chooses reviewers to select colleagues yourself, or choose Employee nominates, manager approves to let the employee suggest colleagues.
  3. Include people who regularly observe the employee's work. For Leadership 360, aim for six to ten reviewers across manager, peers and direct reports where appropriate.
  4. In manager-selected mode, add the reviewers and send their invitations once the cycle is funded.

If the employee nominates reviewers

  1. The employee opens their assigned cycle and adds proposed reviewers in the reviewer section.
  2. Proposed reviewers remain pending approval. Their links cannot be used to submit feedback until approval.
  3. Authorised owners and managers see reviewer tasks in notifications and on Organisation Today.
  4. Open the cycle to review and approve suitable nominations before invitations become active.
  5. The organisation manages invitations and reminders. Employees cannot send, chase or remove sent organisation invitations.

Understand progress

  • The employee can see invited reviewers and the total number of responses.
  • They cannot see which person has submitted or individual response times.
  • Authorised owners and managers can see invitation statuses to manage reminders. This does not make every answer named in the report.

Close and report

At least three reviewer responses, excluding the employee's self-review, are required before a Leadership or Values 360 can be closed for reporting. Invite more than three people to allow for non-response. This minimum applies to personal cycles too; pooled team surveys are different.

Peer and direct-report scores and comments are grouped. Groups below three responses are merged. Manager feedback is shown separately and should be treated as named; self-ratings belong to the subject. Grouping reduces identification risk but cannot guarantee anonymity with small groups or distinctive written comments. Do not include names or identifying details in comments.

Organisation-funded reports are available to authorised owners and managers. A personal cycle does not become employer-visible just because the person is an organisation member.

Personal, pay-as-you-go cycles

You can still pay for and run your own 360. Choose your own reviewers through the existing payment and invitation journey, without employer nomination approval. You see invitees and aggregate response counts, not individual submission statuses or response times. The three-reviewer minimum still applies to Leadership and Values reports about one person.

What reviewers experience

Each reviewer opens their unique email link without creating an account. They answer one theme at a time, see progress and finish with written feedback. Leadership questions ask how often a behaviour is observed, with I haven't observed this available when they lack evidence. This encourages observation-based feedback but does not eliminate bias.

If something is missing

  • No nomination option for an employee: the cycle may use manager-selected reviewers, or it may be a personal cycle rather than organisation-assigned.
  • A nomination link is inactive: an authorised owner or manager must approve it first.
  • No reviewer task appears: check your current organisation role and reporting-line access, and whether reviewer action is actually outstanding.
  • Cannot close the cycle: check that at least three reviewers, not including the self-review, have responded.
  • Cannot see individual submission status as the employee: this is intentional to reduce pressure on reviewers.
