The Science of Learning
Participants will explore how people acquire, retain and apply knowledge and skills, drawing on evidence from cognitive science, psychology and educational research. The masterclass examines the roles of attention, working memory, long-term memory, prior knowledge, cognitive load, retrieval, practice and feedback.
The course translates research into practical strategies that can be used immediately across classroom, workplace and online learning environments. Participants will learn how to improve explanations, sequence learning effectively, reduce unnecessary cognitive overload and help learners retain and apply knowledge with greater confidence.
