Renewal-ready

Built around the HCPC CPD standards.

HCPC asks for a continuous, accurate and up to date record, a varied mix of learning activities, and evidence that your CPD has benefited your practice and your service users. There are no fixed hours to chase, so the quality of what you record matters more than the quantity. Logging as you go keeps all three standards covered.

01

Record what you did

Add the activity, date, provider and time spent. Courses are only the start - record supervision, reading and learning from practice too.

02

Capture what changed

Add a reflection while the learning is fresh: what you learned, why it matters and what you will do differently in practice.

03

Share when you choose

Export a clear PDF or CSV, or create a read-only link for an appraiser. You stay in control of your record.

The rules at a glance

The five HCPC standards for CPD

HCPC regulates 15 professions, from arts therapists to speech and language therapists. All registrants must meet the same five CPD standards. There are no set hours.

  • At each two-year renewal, HCPC randomly selects 2.5% of each profession for CPD audit.
  • HCPC suggests choosing four to six varied activities from the last two years for your profile, not every activity.
  • Include a dated list of all your CPD in the period and explain any gaps of three months or more.

WorkplaceHero helps you organise your CPD. Always check HCPC's current CPD standards and audit guidance for your profession. WorkplaceHero is an independent record-keeping tool. We do not accredit learning, certify compliance or guarantee that a regulator will accept your record - meeting your regulator's requirements remains your responsibility. We research regulator and professional body guidance from official sources, record the source and the date we last checked it, and review entries when rules change. Requirements can change without notice, so always confirm the current rules, exemptions and deadlines with your regulator or professional body before relying on them. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will check and correct it. Report an update

Questions, answered

Before you start

Is this HCPC CPD log free?
Yes. Individual accounts are free permanently, with no card details and no trial period.
How many CPD hours does HCPC require?
HCPC does not set a fixed number of hours. It expects a continuous, up to date record of varied learning that shows benefit to your practice and service users, and it audits a sample of each profession at every two-year renewal.
What counts as HCPC CPD?
Courses, conferences, supervision, peer discussion, journal reading, mentoring, work shadowing and learning from everyday practice can all count. Tag each entry by type so your mix of activities is easy to show.
What happens if HCPC audits me?
If you are sampled, HCPC asks for a CPD profile covering your registration period. Your record already holds the dates, activities, evidence and reflections you need, so you can export and shape your profile quickly.
Can I add CPD I have already done?
Yes. Backdate entries one by one or import a CSV from Excel or Google Sheets, so your full registration period sits in one place.
