Warehouses combine vehicles, height, heavy loads and time pressure - a combination that causes serious injuries every year.
This course covers safe warehouse operations: goods in and out, racking and storage, manual handling and mechanical handling equipment, workplace transport safety, hazardous substances and stock control.

Course content
The course is delivered in short, bite-size sections that learners can stop and restart at any point.

The warehouse operation
Goods receipt and dispatch, storage systems, stock rotation, records and traceability.
- Section 2
Storage safety
Racking inspection and damage, load limits, stacking, and safe working at height.
- Section 3
Handling and transport
Manual handling technique, lift trucks and MHE, pedestrian segregation, loading bays and vehicle safety.
- Section 4
Risk and emergencies
Risk assessment, COSHH and hazardous goods, fire precautions, first aid and incident reporting.
Who it is for
Warehouse operatives, pickers, packers, goods-in and dispatch staff, team leaders and supervisors in warehousing, storage and distribution.
Entry requirements: No prior knowledge is needed. The course is written in plain English and suitable for all staff.

How it is assessed
Knowledge checks run throughout the course so learners can test understanding as they go. The course ends with a multiple-choice assessment taken online. Learners who do not pass first time can retake it.
Certification
Learners receive a Highfield Online Training digital certificate as soon as they pass the end-of-course assessment. Certificates download straight away and can be saved to a CPD log or staff training record.
Refresher guidance: Most employers refresh this training every 12 months, or sooner if the law, roles or workplace risks change.
