Who this is for
- You are now responsible for delivering training at your company
- You want your training to stand up to scrutiny from HR, quality or audit
- You need to sign off competence at work and want to do it properly
- You want a qualification that goes with you if you change jobs
- You want practical skills you can apply on Monday morning
Why this path fits
Most in-house company trainers should start with a Level 3 assessing qualification. The Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is the direct match for what workplace trainers actually do: observing colleagues, giving feedback, signing off that they can perform to standard.
If you also deliver structured training sessions - inductions, toolbox talks, product training, compliance courses - add a teaching qualification so you can plan lessons, differentiate for different learners and evidence quality.
Both qualifications are Ofqual-regulated Focus Awards, delivered online, and portable across employers. They also strengthen the case for internal apprenticeships, funded training bids and ISO/quality accreditations that require named qualified trainers and assessors.
